Chapter 4
An Unlikely Alliance
Witnessing Thalita's tireless efforts and the community's kindness, Bartholomew's grumpy heart softens. He realizes that maybe, just maybe, these strays need a helping paw. He joins Thalita!
The wind howled a mournful tune, a symphony of sighs and shivers that rattled the windowpanes of Thalita's little house. "Oh, Bartholomew," Thalita chirped, her voice a bright spark in the dim light, "you look absolutely dreadful! But don't you worry, we'll get everyone sorted. Mrs. Higgins is bringing over some old blankets, and Thiago is gathering all the cardboard boxes he can find. We're going to build a proper shelter!"
