Sam's Speedy Suspicions
Delivery person Sam, always on the move, reports seeing strange flickering lights and odd movements near the signs and library late at night.
Sam, with their perpetual motion and a smile as bright as the midday sun, zoomed into the town square on their trusty bicycle, a basket overflowing with packages. They screeched to a halt, the bell jingling a cheerful, if slightly frantic, tune. Tara, who had been meticulously rearranging a toppled “G” on the bakery sign, looked up, a smudge of flour on her nose.
“Sam! You’re always so fast! Did you see what happened to the ‘G’?” Tara asked, pointing with a flour-dusted finger.
Sam dismounted, their movements a blur as they secured the bike. “Oh, the ‘G’! That’s nothing, Tara. What I’ve been seeing is much stranger. Much, much stranger.” They leaned in conspiratorially, their eyes wide. “Last night, when I was finishing my rounds, I saw… lights. Flickering lights, like fireflies having a disco party, but over by the old clock tower. And then, this morning, I swear I saw something darting behind the ‘Welcome to Harmony Creek’ sign. It was too fast to be a person, too… jerky to be an animal.”
