Chapter 6
The Crystal's Curse
Trapped on Solaris IX, Lyra must survive the deadly crystal storms and evade Imperial patrols. She discovers clues about the ancient weapon, but at a terrible cost to her new allies.

Her normally delicate hands were grimy, her refined features etched with exhaustion. Her own DNA Chip, focused on knowledge acquisition and subtle energy manipulation, was more of a burden than a boon out here, offering little in the way of physical protection. “The readings are getting worse,” she reported, her voice barely audible. “The crystalline structure is becoming more… aggressive. It’s not just ambient particles anymore; it’s coalescing.”
