Obsidian Reach was a hellscape sculpted by a malevolent god. The air, thick with sulfur and the acrid stench of burning metal, seared Lyra’s lungs with every ragged breath. This was the empire’s ultimate prison, a planet where hope went to die, and where the dregs of Alysia’s galaxy were thrown to fester and rot.

But Lyra Voss, despite the grime clinging to her skin and the ache in her bones, was not yet dead. Not even close. She stood in the center of a makeshift arena, the roar of a thousand desperate throats a primal symphony. Her opponent, a hulking brute whose DNA Chip had clearly been over-engineered for sheer destructive force, advanced with a guttural snarl. His arms, thick as tree trunks, were encased in crude, sparking gauntlets that pulsed with raw energy. He was a walking furnace, a testament to the brutal efficiency of Obsidian Reach’s gladiatorial system.

“Another pretty bird for the pyre!” the brute bellowed, his voice a gravelly rasp. “Let’s see if those fancy Academy moves can save you from real fire, little thief!”
