Chapter 12
The Serpent's Coil
Beneath Abyssara's waves, Lyra uncovers a conspiracy involving forbidden magic and sea monsters. She learns of Seraphine's true motives and the entity's immense power.
The crushing weight of Abyssara’s depths pressed in on Lyra, a familiar sensation that, ironically, felt like a breath of fresh air after the suffocating clutches of the Crimson Empress. Her DNA Chip, a second skin of quantum light, hummed with the ambient pressure, translating the liquid world into a symphony of sensory data. She swam through the bioluminescent coral forests, the city of Aquatica a distant shimmer of opalescent domes and spires far below. Things that shouldn’t exist outside of forbidden arcane labs.” She kicked off a shimmering anemone, propelling herself deeper. “And the sea monsters. They’re not just acting erratically anymore. They’re… coordinated. Like they’re being herded.”
