The hum of the studio lights had faded, replaced by the softer glow of a late-afternoon sun filtering through the cafe window. Leo and Save sat opposite each other, the remnants of their shared lunch – a few stray crumbs, two empty coffee cups – a testament to the quiet intimacy that had settled between them. The air, once charged with the electric energy of performance, now felt comfortably still, punctuated only by the clinking of cutlery from nearby tables and the murmur of hushed conversations.
“I still can’t believe we actually did it,” Save said, his voice barely above a whisper, a faint blush still lingering on his cheeks from their earlier scene. He traced the rim of his cup with a fingertip, his gaze fixed on the swirling patterns of the leftover coffee. “That last take… I thought I was going to mess it up, for sure.”
Leo offered a small, reassuring smile, a genuine one that reached his eyes. He’d noticed how Save’s hands had trembled slightly before that final shot, the flicker of nerves in his expression. “You were brilliant, Save. Honestly. You always are.” He paused, letting the compliment settle. “And you didn’t mess it up. Not at all. We nailed it.”
