It was an intricate piece, etched with swirling patterns that seemed to shift and reform in the periphery of her vision, a relic of her mother’s quiet artistry. Kira had fiddled with it countless times, tracing the lines, pressing the tiny clasp, all to no avail. It remained a silent, beautiful enigma. Celestial dance. Silent stars. It was a leap, a wild, improbable connection, but Kira’s heart had pounded with a sudden, electric hope. She’d clutched the locket, its metal warming beneath her touch, and in a voice barely above a breath, she’d whispered, “The celestial dance.”
