The descent was different. Not a frantic scramble fueled by the Shadow’s icy breath nipping at my heels, but a steady, deliberate walk. Next, the room with the worn teddy bear, its button eye missing, its fur matted from countless hugs. I’d cried for days when I’d lost that eye, convinced the bear was ruined forever. But Mum had sewn a patch over the gap, and he’d become even more special, a bear with a story. Looking at him now, I saw not a forlorn toy, but a testament to resilience, to mending. The air in this room felt softer, warmer, like a gentle embrace.
