Logan Regional Medical Center. Even the name itself, when spoken aloud, seemed to carry a certain weight. It wasn’t just another sterile building dedicated to healing; it was a place that had collected its share of lingering energies, its own spectral residents. And these weren’t just whispers or fleeting shadows. At Logan, the paranormal was often as vivid and tangible as the living, a fact that even extended beyond the hospital walls, across the street to the apartment complex.

The property manager there, a woman named Brenda, had seen them. Not just glimpses, but full apparitions, clear as day. She’d describe them with a matter-of-factness that was almost more unsettling than a terrified scream. “Oh, that one,” she’d say, pointing vaguely towards the hospital, “that’s the man in the blue scrubs. He always looks so confused, like he doesn’t know where he’s supposed to be going.” She’d seen him many times, standing near the entrance, a faint shimmer around him, his expression etched with a permanent bewilderment.

Then there was the woman, usually in a floral hospital gown, her hair a disheveled halo. Brenda had seen her too, pacing the sidewalk just beyond the complex’s property line, wringing her hands as if searching for something lost. The details were always specific, always linked to what Brenda had witnessed when the ambulances had arrived at the hospital in the past. She’d see the same clothing, the same posture, the same vacant stare that mirrored the moments before someone was wheeled through those emergency doors for the last time.
