The air on the Blood Red Bed island, usually thick with the scent of brine and exotic blossoms, now carried a subtle, unnerving chill. It was a chill that seeped not just into their bones, but into their very beings, a disquieting echo of the curse that had befallen Captain Red Eye and her loyal crew. They stood in a huddle, their faces etched with a mixture of fear and a fragile, burgeoning hope, the Seer’s cryptic words still resonating in their minds. “Once you put red crystal in the ground, you get your soul back.”
Captain Red Eye, her usually fiery gaze now softened with a desperate plea, clutched the pulsating red crystal. It was a thing of terrible beauty, its facets catching the dim twilight and throwing off an eerie, internal luminescence. It was the very object of their obsession, the symbol of their downfall, and now, their salvation. Barnacle Bill, his weathered face a mask of grim determination, stood beside her, his hand resting on the hilt of his cutlass, a silent promise of protection. Salty Sue, her usual cheerful demeanor replaced by a quiet solemnity, fiddled with a loose thread on her crimson scarf, her eyes darting between the crystal and the dark, loamy earth of the island.
“The Seer’s words are clear,” Red Eye said, her voice a little shaky, betraying the iron will that usually commanded her crew. “We must bury it. Deep.”
