The first rays of dawn, shy and tentative, crept over the jagged silhouette of Jurbarkas. They weren't the harsh, glaring beams of a forgotten sun, but a softer, kinder light, filtering through the persistent haze that had long clung to the city like a shroud. Anya, her red lenses reflecting the nascent glow, stood on a rooftop overlooking the waking metropolis. Below, the usual cacophony of grinding gears and clanking metal was muted, replaced by a new sound – a gentle hum, like a thousand tiny engines waking from a long slumber.

It was the sound of rebuilding. The Pentagon’s oppressive grip, once a suffocating weight, had begun to loosen, like a fist slowly unclenching. Anya could feel it, a subtle shift in the city’s very breath. The red lenses, usually buzzing with the stark, often unsettling, truths of Jurbarkas, now showed a different kind of reality. The grimy walls of buildings seemed to shimmer with a faint, hopeful energy. The tangled pipes, once symbols of decay, now pulsed with a nascent current, promising to carry something more than just waste.

Beside her, Kael, his face smudged with the grime of his tireless work, pointed a trembling finger towards the city center. "Look, Anya! The old forge… it’s lit!"
