Chapter 7
Danger Draws Near
As Maya gets closer to Leo and helps him decipher the clues, she finds herself in the crosshairs of the organization. Her bravery is tested as she becomes a target, putting her own safety at risk.
Maya traced the intricate lines of the symbol in her notebook, the charcoal smudging faintly beneath her fingertip. And he’d spoken of the organization, his voice laced with a weariness that spoke volumes of their relentless pursuit.
“They’re getting closer,” he’d said, his gaze fixed on the horizon as if he could see the unseen forces closing in. “They can sense its presence, even from afar. And now, they sense you, too.”
