Chapter 4
Guardians of the Unknown
Elara, with the help of the wise Agnes Miller and a few brave townsfolk, forms an unlikely alliance to protect the alien baby, whom they nickname Orion. They must shield it from Croft's relentless pursuit and his organization's shadowy operatives.

Her usual sharp pronouncements were replaced by a quiet, almost maternal concern. "He’s just a babe, Elara. Lost and scared. Like any stray pup.” Her gaze flickered towards the window, where the inky blackness beyond seemed to hold its breath. "But there are those who won't see him that way. Those who see only… opportunity."
