A moment of sacrifice or immense courage is required. The artifact is either destroyed in a surge of power or sealed using ancient rites discovered by Maya and Ethan, severing the demon's connection.
The air in the clearing was thick, heavy with a silence that vibrated with unspoken dread. Shadows, deeper than they had any right to be, clung to the ancient oaks like tattered shrouds. Ethan stood, his heart a frantic drum against his ribs, the cursed amulet cold and heavy in his palm. It pulsed with a faint, malevolent warmth, a stark contrast to the icy grip of fear that had settled over him. Beside him, Liam’s breath hitched, a ragged sound swallowed by the oppressive stillness. Maya, her face pale, clutched Ethan’s arm, her knuckles white.
They had followed the fragmented clues, pieced together the whispers of forgotten lore, and now they stood at the precipice. The Infernal Entity, a being woven from pure, unadulterated darkness, loomed before them, its form a shifting, nightmarish silhouette against the bruised twilight sky. It had promised them freedom, a return to normalcy, but the price it demanded was a chasm they weren't sure they could cross.
"It wants a vessel," Maya whispered, her voice trembling. "It wants… someone to anchor itself here, to break the pact that binds it."
