The air, once thick with the low hum of compliance, began to thin. It was a sensation the Second Lander felt not just in their physical form, but deep within the shimmering core of their being. The rigid lines that had once defined the pathways, the stern pronouncements that echoed from unseen speakers, the very pressure of expectation – it was all softening, like frost melting under a gentle sun. The Warden, that omnipresent, unyielding force, seemed to be… receding.

It wasn't a dramatic collapse, no thunderous roar of defeat. Instead, it was a quiet unravelling. The harsh, angular edges of the buildings seemed to blur, the stark grey hues bleeding into softer, more varied tones. The constant, low-level anxiety that had permeated the atmosphere began to dissipate, replaced by a tentative curiosity, a hesitant lifting of shoulders that had been perpetually hunched.

Elara noticed it too. She had been sketching in her worn notebook, her charcoal stick dancing across the page, capturing the subtle shift in the light. She looked up, her bright eyes scanning the cityscape. "It's… quieter, isn't it?" she whispered, her voice filled with wonder. "The Warden's voice… it's not so loud anymore."
