Chapter 12
The Caves of Echoing Whispers
Samantha delves into ancient caves where the forest's history is etched, learning more about Malakor's past and the source of his darkness.
The air in the Caves of Echoing Whispers was thick with the scent of damp earth and something else, something ancient and potent, like petrified secrets. Samantha’s boots crunched on fallen pebbles as she ventured deeper, the flickering light of her makeshift torch casting dancing shadows against the rough-hewn walls. Elias walked beside her, his presence a steady anchor in the encroaching darkness. Samantha ran a hand over the cool, rough rock. It felt alive, humming with a low, resonant energy. Here and there, faint etchings began to appear – swirling patterns that seemed to depict the birth of the forest, the dance of sunlight through ancient canopies, and the gentle flow of the river that nourished it all. These were not the crude markings of men, but something far older, imbued with a life of their own.
