The air in the sprite's playroom, if it could even be called that, hummed with a peculiar energy. It was less a room and more a clearing where sunlight dappled through leaves in shifting mosaics, illuminating mossy mounds and the gnarled roots of ancient trees. Pip, bless his innocent heart, was perched on a toadstool, his face smeared with berry juice, looking more bewildered than distressed.
