Another new hope of life is Experienced
The scent of salt and brine, once a mere olfactory curiosity, had woven itself into Javan’s very being. It clung to his worn flannel shirts, dusted his sun-bleached hair, and whispered through the open windows of his small cottage. Today, however, the air carried something else, something that made his heart beat a little faster, a little lighter. It was the scent of possibility, a subtle shift in the familiar atmosphere of Port Blossom.
He’d been walking along the docks, the pre-dawn chill still clinging to the weathered planks, when he saw her. Elara. She was already there, a silhouette against the bruised purple of the eastern sky, her easel set up, a canvas stark white and waiting. She turned as he approached, her smile a soft bloom in the dim light.
“Morning, Javan,” she said, her voice a low melody, like the gentle lapping of waves against the shore.
