The salt-laced whisper, that ancient breath that has carried the tales of the sea since time immemorial, sighs again. It is a sound woven into the very fabric of the ocean, a lament that rises and falls with the tide, a sorrowful melody sung by the waves against the hulls of ships, both living and long-drowned. I have heard it all, you see, every creak of timber under strain, every frantic cry swallowed by the wind, every desperate prayer whispered into the indifferent spray. It is my nature to remember, to hold these stories close, even as the relentless march of steel and steam seeks to outpace the very grief that fuels their creation.

The humble fishing boats, the very lifeblood of coastal communities, were no match for the churning maw of the sea when it decided to feast. Each sinking, each lost soul, was a note in my sorrowful song, a testament to the fragile boundary between human endeavor and the raw, untamed power that surrounds us.
