ZOID IS PREGNANT

The morning after the intimate tempest that had swept through their lives felt both serene and charged. Sunlight, softened by the sheer curtains, painted hazy stripes across the rumpled sheets. Zoid stirred, a languid stretch unfolding through their limbs, the lingering warmth of Luke a comforting presence beside them. They bolted upright, a gasp escaping their lips, and scrambled out of bed, making a beeline for the bathroom. The porcelain was cool against their clammy skin as they retched, a deep, guttural sound of distress.

When the violent urge subsided, leaving them weak and shaky, Zoid’s gaze fell upon the small, plastic pregnancy test lying innocently on the counter, a stark white against the tiled surface. They’d bought it on a whim, a vague, nagging suspicion having settled in the back of their mind for the past few days, dismissed as paranoia.
