The Morning After
Waking up together, Zoid and Luke share a tender moment. The fear has subsided, replaced by a sense of peace and the promise of something real.
The first rays of dawn, soft and hesitant, crept through the gap in the curtains, painting stripes of pale gold across the unfamiliar ceiling. Zoid stirred, a sigh escaping their lips, a sound of pure, unadulterated contentment. Beside them, Luke breathed evenly, his arm a warm, comforting weight across Zoid’s waist. It felt so right, so natural, that Zoid almost couldn't believe it had happened. The night had been a blur of whispered confessions, gentle touches, and a deepening intimacy that had left Zoid breathless and utterly smitten.
For so long, Zoid had navigated the world of fleeting connections, a tapestry woven with threads of pleasure and detachment. They’d never sought to complicate things, to tie themselves down. But Luke… Luke was different. He was the gentle sunrise after a long, solitary night. He was the quiet hum of contentment that settled deep in Zoid’s chest.
Zoid carefully shifted, trying not to disturb Luke. They propped themselves up on an elbow, gazing at his sleeping face. His blond hair, usually so perfectly styled, was a soft, disheveled halo around his head. His emerald eyes were closed, his lashes long and dark against his skin. Even in sleep, he possessed an almost ethereal beauty, a perfection that had initially intimidated Zoid. But last night, that perfection had softened, revealing a vulnerability that had drawn Zoid in even closer.
