Chapter 15
Trials by Fire and Ice
The young dragons face escalating challenges. Ember's fiery impulsiveness clashes with Azure's analytical caution, while Jade's empathy struggles against the harsh realities. They must learn to rely on each other.
The air crackled with an unseen energy, a tangible hum that vibrated not just through the scales of the young dragons, but deep within their very bones. Ember, her ruby scales shimmering with restless heat, darted ahead, her wings beating a frantic rhythm against the bruised sky. "Come on! Jade, her emerald scales blending seamlessly with the moss-covered rocks and gnarled roots, brought up the rear. Her movements were slow, deliberate, her gaze often falling on the wilting flora or the skittish movements of small Xylosian creatures. She felt the planet’s unease like a constant ache, a low thrum of distress that resonated with her own. "Azure is right," she said softly, her voice like the rustling of leaves. "The ground here is… unstable. It shifts beneath my claws."
