The air in the Great Cavern of Shifting Sands crackled, not with the usual hum of elemental energy, but with a tense, unspoken understanding. Ignis, her scales the color of a dying ember, shifted her weight, the sand beneath her claws hissing softly. Across from her, Aqua, a shimmering cascade of sapphire and seafoam, met her gaze with an unnerving stillness. Terra, her emerald hide blending seamlessly with the moss-covered stalagmites, remained rooted, a picture of patient strength. For centuries, their clans had danced a wary ballet of peace, a fragile truce held together by tradition and a shared, unspoken fear of what lay beyond their borders. But the cosmic tremors that had begun to shake Xylos had frayed those old bonds, igniting a fire of aggression that threatened to consume them all.

She hadn’t meant to share the full weight of the ancient scrolls, but the desperation in Aqua’s eyes, and the quiet sorrow etched into Terra’s brow, had chipped away at her usual reserve.

Aqua inclined her head, her sapphire horns catching the dim light. "And the artifact," she added, her voice like the gentle lapping of waves against a shore. "The Xylosian artifact that can harmonize these energies. We have found it." The words hung in the air, heavy with implication. The young ones, Ember, Azure, and Jade, had done what centuries of leadership had failed to achieve. They had found a glimmer of hope in the encroaching darkness.
