The prophecy had spoken of hidden paths, of whispers carried on the wind, and of a light that would reveal what was concealed. Ember, Azure, and Jade, their hearts thrumming with a mixture of trepidation and burgeoning hope, followed these cryptic breadcrumbs. They had spent days, then weeks, tracing the faint echoes of the ancient words, their initial rivalry having long since dissolved into a shared purpose. Ember, ever the impetuous one, was already pushing through the ferns, her scales shimmering with anticipation. “Heavy? Or just waiting? Come on, don’t tell me you’re getting cold feet, Jade! Or are you feeling the earth tremble with excitement?” She nudged Jade playfully, a hint of her old teasing returning, but it was laced with genuine camaraderie now.
