Chapter 4
The Serpent's Smile
Lord Silas Blackwood, a rival prince, enters Elara's life. His charm is a stark contrast to Valerius's darkness, but his ambition is palpable, and he sees Elara as a pawn.
The air in the grand ballroom of Thorne Manor was thick with the scent of expensive perfume and hushed conversations, a stark contrast to the quiet solitude I had grown accustomed to. He extended a hand towards me, his touch surprisingly gentle, his fingers long and elegant.
