The air in the chamber was thick with unspoken words, each one a shimmering thread weaving a tapestry of my impending doom, or perhaps, my unexpected salvation. Seraphina’s frail hand, cool against my own, trembled as she spoke of shadows and sacrifices, of a bloodline stained with both power and sorrow. Her eyes, ancient and weary, held a depth of knowledge that both terrified and captivated me. She saw in me something I was only beginning to glimpse in myself, a flicker of resilience that refused to be extinguished by the gilded cage I found myself in.
