Chapter 20: The Cathedral's Shadow
Aria and Min-hyuk infiltrate the cathedral for the Emperor's meeting. Tension builds as they separate and Aria confronts the Emperor, who reveals Leo is still in danger. Min-hyuk ambushes from the tunnels but the Emperor springs a trap, separating them. The chapter ends with Aria escaping into the tunnels, pursued by guards.
The cathedral loomed against the night sky, its spires cutting into the stars like dark needles. Aria's breath misted in the cold air as she stood at the edge of the plaza, her hand still warm from Min-hyuk's grip.
"Remember," he whispered, his voice low and steady. "If anything goes wrong, you run. Don't wait for me."
"I'm not leaving you behind."
