The safehouse was a cramped apartment above a laundromat in the outskirts of Seoul. The smell of detergent and damp fabric seeped through the floorboards, mixing with the scent of instant noodles boiling on a portable stove. Aria sat on the edge of a worn-out sofa, her knees pulled to her chest, watching the steam curl from her cup.
Leo was asleep on a mattress in the corner, his breathing steady for the first time in days. Jae-won had taken the first watch, pacing by the window with his phone pressed to his ear. Soo-jin was in the bathroom, the sound of running water a constant hum.
Min-hyuk sat beside Aria, close enough that she could feel the warmth radiating from his arm. He hadn't said much since they arrived, but his presence was a steady anchor in the chaos.
