The old observatory stood at the edge of the palace grounds, its dome cracked and weathered. Aria's footsteps echoed on the marble floor as she pushed open the heavy door. Dust motes danced in the slivers of light cutting through boarded windows.
"You came."
The Emperor's voice rolled from the shadows. He stood by the central telescope, his hands clasped behind his back. "I knew you would."
