Aria and her allies navigate the underground tunnels beneath Seoul, discovering a hidden safehouse where Min-hyuk and Aria share a tender moment. The group devises a plan to infiltrate the palace, but Min-hyuk reveals a personal sacrifice he is willing to make. The chapter ends with the group ready to move, only to receive an impossible ultimatum from the Emperor.
The tunnel was damp and cold, the kind of cold that seeped into bones and refused to leave. Aria shivered, pressing closer to Min-hyuk as they navigated the narrow passage. His arm wrapped around her shoulders, pulling her into his warmth.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low.
"I've been better." She forced a smile. "But I've also been worse."
