The air in the clearing tasted of crushed emeralds and something akin to static electricity. Robin swung a heavy, gnarled branch, the force of his movement clumsy, untrained. It landed with a dull thud against the rough bark of an ancient tree, the impact jarring his arms. He grunted, his muscles screaming from the unfamiliar exertion.
