The air in the clearing hummed with an energy Robin had never felt before, a vibrant thrumming that seemed to resonate not just in his ears, but deep within his bones. It was a stark contrast to the gnawing exhaustion that had clung to him since he’d tumbled through that rotten floorboard, a constant companion of mud, fear, and the acrid scent of gunpowder. Here, the scent was of something else entirely – a sweet, earthy perfume mingled with the sharp tang of ozone, as if the world itself was breathing in and out.

Elara, her form a shifting silhouette against the luminous foliage, gestured with a hand that seemed to drip with moonlight. "You feel it, don't you, soldier?" Her voice was a low murmur, like stones smoothed by a river. "The pulse of this place. It answers you, just as you answer it."

Robin clenched his fists, trying to parse her words. He *did* feel it, a strange prickling sensation beneath his skin, a warmth that spread from his chest outwards. It was like that moment before a storm broke, when the air grew heavy with anticipation, but this was different. This was a benevolent pressure, a silent conversation. He looked at his hands, rough and calloused from years of war, and willed them to do something, anything, to confirm this nascent feeling. A faint shimmer, barely perceptible, danced around his fingertips. He blinked, and it was gone.
