Chapter 10

The Mill's Secret

Eliza and Mr. Griggs follow the silver beam to the old mill at Bellman's Hill. They search for the focusing lens hidden in the foundation, using Viktor's journal as a guide. After a tense encounter with a loose stone and a narrow escape from a collapsing floor, they retrieve the lens. The beam shifts, pointing back to the observatory, but they notice the figure of the watcher approaching from the shadows.
