The void wasn't a place, not in the way Liam understood places. It was more like a vast, silent expanse where thoughts had weight and intentions echoed. He’d stumbled into it, not through a door or a portal, but by the sheer, unyielding force of the 3H-O coursing through him. Now, standing at its perceived edge, he faced them.

They were not beings of flesh and bone, nor even of light and shadow. They were… concepts. Abstract forms that coalesced and dissolved with unnerving fluidity, their presence a palpable pressure against Liam’s mind. He’d seen them before, in the fractured visions the pills had granted him, but now they were solid, or as solid as anything could be in this non-place. They were the architects of his dread, the harbingers of humanity’s end.

“You understand now,” one of them stated, the voice not a sound but a resonance that vibrated directly in Liam’s consciousness. It was a collective voice, yet each entity seemed to possess its own distinct frequency, a subtle dissonance that made the pronouncement all the more unsettling.
