Chapter 19
The Final Stand
The epic battle against Lord Valerius commences within the mansion's walls. Randy, wielding the Sword of Rana, leads the defense against the ultimate threat.
The air in the Grand Hall crackled, not with the usual hum of ambient magic, but with a palpable tension, thick and suffocating. Panic rippled through the assembled students, a wave of fear threatening to shatter the fragile unity we had built. “So,” Valerius’s voice echoed, a dry rustle like dead leaves skittering across stone, “the little magicless rat has found his trinket.” His gaze, sharp and predatory, landed on the Sword of Rana, its ethereal glow a stark contrast to the encroaching darkness. It pulsed against my palm, a warmth spreading through my arm, a silent reassurance. My grandmother’s words, “only you can control it,” echoed in my mind, a constant refrain against the cacophony of fear.
