Raab's Mother traced the faint, almost imperceptible hum that vibrated through the soles of her bio-boots. It was a subtle tremor, like a distant heartbeat, or perhaps the collective sigh of a world holding its breath. She stood on the observation deck of her dwelling, a shimmering spire that pierced the perpetually twilight sky of Neo-Veridia. Below, the city sprawled, a tapestry of bioluminescent pathways and crystalline structures, each pulsing with its own unique energy signature. But today, that familiar energy felt...off. A discordant note in the grand symphony.

Her gaze drifted to the holographic globe suspended in the center of the main chamber. It was a mesmerizing display, a swirling sphere of light that mapped the interconnectedness of everything. Usually, it was a picture of serene, intricate balance. Now, however, there were flickers, tiny sparks of aberrant light that winked in and out of existence across its surface. They weren't the predictable patterns of data flow, nor the graceful dance of atmospheric currents. These were erratic, like static on an ancient broadcast, or tears in the fabric of reality itself.

"Copernicus," she murmured, her voice soft, yet carrying a resonance that seemed to fill the vast space.
