Chapter 4
Confrontation with the Usurper
Kaelen confronts the Xylos leader, a powerful, ancient being. The leader reveals the Xylos' origins and their twisted justification for their dominion over Earth.

Kaelen’s hand tightened around the hilt of his father’s sword, a familiar weight that did little to quell the tremor in his gut. He had faced trials, overcome guardians, and navigated treacherous landscapes to reach this point. But this… this was different. This was the heart of the serpent, the source of the blight that had consumed his world.
