The sun, a molten coin, beat down upon Elara’s brow, each ray a fiery whisper against her skin. Yet, the heat was a distant thrum, a mere inconvenience compared to the tempest raging within. The desert, once a canvas of challenge, now felt like a mirror, reflecting back every flicker of doubt, every shadow of fear she had ever harbored. The wind, which had sung tales of adventure, now sighed with the voices of her own insecurities, weaving a tapestry of what-ifs and why-bothers.
