Quantum Reunion
The stargate shimmers under a celestial alignment. With a leap of faith, Luca and Stella plunge in, their intertwined souls finally finding their way back to each other.
The air in Indian Canyon thrummed with an otherworldly resonance, a symphony of starlight and ancient stone. Above, the heavens were a tapestry unfurled, constellations shifting and reforming in a celestial ballet that had not been witnessed by mortal eyes in millennia. Luca, his heart a frantic drum against his ribs, felt it first – a tremor not of the earth, but of existence itself. Stella’s presence, a beacon he’d chased through the fractured corridors of time, was suddenly, overwhelmingly, *near*.
He scrambled up the final rocky incline, his breath catching in his throat. Below, nestled in a cradle of ochre cliffs, a tear in reality shimmered. It was a nascent nebula, swirling with impossible colors, a silent promise and a terrifying gamble. The stargate. The celestial bridge. The last hope.
He could feel her, a phantom warmth against his skin, a whisper against the roar of the wind. Her fear, sharp and potent, pricked at him, but beneath it, a fierce, unyielding hope blazed. He saw her, not in his mind’s eye, but as if standing beside him – her hair catching the alien light, her eyes wide with a mixture of awe and desperation. He reached out, his fingers brushing against empty air, but the sensation lingered, real as the rough granite beneath his worn boots.
