Chapter 5
The Lost Resonance Stone
The Lumina Weaver reveals a quest: find the Resonance Stone, an artifact vital to mending the fractured First Gate. The child must now seek this lost key.
The Lumina Weaver’s voice was like chimes made of frost, each syllable a delicate shard of sound that settled on the air. It didn’t boom or echo, but rather wove itself into the very fabric of my vision, which was still a dizzying kaleidoscope of what-ifs and might-have-beens. The starlight that composed its form pulsed with a gentle rhythm, a counterpoint to the frantic thrumming in my chest. “The First Gate,” it whispered, its misty tendrils swirling closer, “is fractured. I saw a flash of crimson, a city of impossible spires, then back to my quiet street, but with an unsettling stillness, as if all the birds had suddenly fallen silent.
“It is the song of stability,” the Lumina Weaver explained, its gaze, if it had eyes, seemed to pierce through my fear. “A harmony that anchors reality. The Chronos Serpent has stolen the Resonance Stone, the very heart of that harmony for this Gate.”
