"It feels… different now," Deividas murmured, his voice barely a whisper. He nudged the object with his nose, a hesitant gesture. His eyes, usually so wide and watchful, seemed to hold a new kind of wonder, a softness that hadn’t been there before. I remembered how shy he had been when he first scurried out from his burrow, his fur bristling with uncertainty. Now, he sat so close, a part of our small, quiet circle.
