Chapter 13: The Final Curtain
Bruce, Harry, Pete, Danny, and Alfie reunite after freeing Alfie from stasis. As alarms blare and the depot descends into chaos, they realize the only way to end the horror is to destroy both the backup core and its master, Ringmaster Scar. They navigate the collapsing railway depot, evading the hostile animatronics and the vengeful Spider-machine. In a climactic confrontation in the heart of the depot, Alfie and Danny face the Ringmaster together. Through teamwork, luck, and the mechanical knowledge Bruce and Pete provide, they defeat Ringmaster Scar, escaping the factory at last. The chapter ends with the survivors battered, but finally free of the Ringmaster’s grasp—though faint red lights hint that some dangers may still linger.
The hiss of escaping air was the first thing Alfie heard. Then a jolt, as if cold water had rushed into every part of him, and the dim amber glow inside the tube flickered to harsh white. For a breathless second, he thought he was drowning. Then a pair of strong hands yanked him upright, dragging him from the viscous liquid, and coughing, shivering, he surfaced—alive.
“Easy! I’ve got you. You’re alright, Alfie. You're here with us.”
Danny’s voice, unmistakable—warm, grounding, his eyes as wide and anxious as ever. Alfie blinked, trying to get his bearings. The world was a haze of metal and glass: the stasis tubes, the humming machinery, Pete’s tense silhouette hunched over wires, Bruce’s gruff face streaked with grime, and Harry’s anxious pacing near the door, every muscle in his athletic frame taut with nerves.
