The First Shadow
As Ren draws, a faint shadow creeps at the edges of the page. It's formless, menacing. The Antagonist is born from Ren's own self-doubt, a silent threat to the burgeoning world.
Ren’s pencil danced across the paper, a familiar flutter in their chest as the lines began to take shape. They were drawing a bustling marketplace, a kaleidoscope of colours and textures. A vendor’s stall overflowed with glistening fruits, another displayed intricately woven fabrics, and in the distance, the spires of a fantastical city pierced a sky painted in hues of lavender and gold. Each stroke was a breath, each shade a whisper of life. Coco, perched on the edge of the desk, watched with wide, eager eyes, her own ink pen poised, ready to fill in the words that would bring the scene to life.
“Look, Coco!” Ren exclaimed, their voice light with the joy of creation. “I’ve added a little bird with a tiny bell on its leg. Can you imagine the chime?”
Coco giggled, her pen flicking. “*A tiny bell, like a fairy’s laugh, tinkling as it perches on a ripe, ruby-red apple!*” she dictated, her voice full of wonder. “Oh, Ren, it’s so beautiful. The way you make everything feel so… *real*.”
