Bobo watched, his large, gentle eyes reflecting the swirling, inky tendrils of the Antagonist. They writhed and coiled, a hungry darkness that seemed to suck the very color from the air. Ren had retreated, their hands hovering over the sketchbook, a familiar tremor of uncertainty in their fingers. Coco, ever the whirlwind of brave energy, stood a few paces away, her expression a mask of determination, though Bobo, with his quiet observation, could sense the flicker of fear beneath.

The Antagonist had no name, not one that could be spoken, not one that would stick. It was simply the Antagonist, a void that existed to consume, to unravel, to undo. Bobo had seen its hunger, its insatiable need. It fed on the edges of things, on the hesitation before a line was drawn, on the doubt that whispered in the artist’s ear. It thrived on the incomplete, the uncertain, the unfinished.

And that, Bobo realized with a sudden, startling clarity, was its weakness.
