Chapter 6
Giggle-Snatchers and Tangled Paths
Her path is soon blocked by Giggle-Snatchers, mischievous sprites who try to steal her laughter. Paulinha must outwit them to continue her journey through the winding forest.

Suddenly, a flicker of movement at the edge of her vision. Small, shimmering forms, no bigger than dragonflies, darted through the undergrowth. They were gossamer-winged, their bodies like spun moonlight, and their eyes, large and luminous, gleamed with an impish curiosity. Paulinha recognized them instantly from the hushed tales whispered by the older children of the village: Giggle-Snatchers.
