Clutching the Sunstone, Paulinha thanks the Owl and begins her swift journey back. The forest seems brighter, her heart filled with renewed hope for Luna.
The Sunstone felt warm in Paulinha’s hands, a tangible ember of pure sunlight against her skin. It pulsed with a gentle, steady rhythm, a promise of freedom for her new friend. She looked up at the Wise Old Owl, his eyes like polished amber in the dim light of his perch. Gratitude bubbled up inside her, a feeling so potent it threatened to spill over.
“Thank you,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. “Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for the Sunstone. I won’t let you down, sir.”
The Owl blinked slowly, a gesture that somehow conveyed both understanding and encouragement. “The light within you, little one, is brighter than any stone. Go. Your friend awaits.”
