The Journey to the Glade of Echoes
Greg, Squeaky, Thumper, and Mortimer set out at dawn to find the Glade of Echoes. Following the silver feather, they cross a rocky ravine and discover a hidden path behind a curtain of ivy. The path leads them to a towering waterfall, where the roar of water creates strange echoes. They find the glade, but the ground is covered in a thin layer of shadow. Greg plants the first seed, and as it glows, the shadow recedes, revealing a small, mossy altar. A mysterious voice whispers from the waterfall, warning of the shadow's growing strength. The chapter ends with the friends determined to continue, and the silver feather now points toward the Glade of Whispers.
The next morning, Greg woke before the sun. He packed a small bag with the three seeds, the silver feather, and a few snacks. Squeaky arrived first, hopping with excitement. Thumper came next, carrying a map she had drawn of the woods. Mortimer trudged in last, grumbling but ready.
“The Glade of Echoes is near the old waterfall,” Thumper said, pointing to a spot on her map. “It’s a long walk, past the rocky ravine.”
Greg held up the silver feather. It glowed softly, pointing east. “We’ll follow this,” he said.
