Chapter 5
The Moonlit Stone Circle
Greg and his friends plant the three glowing petals and wait for the moon. They meet the wise old owl at the stone circle, where she reveals that the flowers are part of an ancient magic protecting the Whispering Woods. A shadow is spreading under the forest, and the flowers' light is fading. The owl gives them a new quest: find the source of the shadow before the next full moon.
The next morning, Greg woke up early and ran to his garden. The three tiny plants were still glowing, their petals shimmering with soft light. He knelt down and touched the first one. It felt warm, like a tiny sun.
“They grew overnight!” he said to himself.
Soon Squeaky came bouncing through the gate, his bushy tail swirling. “Are they still glowing? I couldn’t sleep! I kept looking out my window.”
