Chapter 4

The Shadow's Pursuit

A chilling presence begins to dog their steps, a creeping dread that seeps into the very air. Anya, with her keen senses, feels it first – a malevolent force observing their every move. Kael senses it too, a primal fear that hints at a deeper, more dangerous connection. Anya realizes Kael is not merely a lost traveler; he is a quarry. The Dark Sorcerer, a name whispered in hushed tones, is hunting him, drawn by an unseen power within Kael. Their nascent bond, once a source of comfort, now makes them a more visible target, a beacon in the encroaching darkness.

This was something ancient, something steeped in malice.
