The cavern air, thick with the scent of damp earth and something vaguely metallic, had become a second skin to them. For days, they had navigated its winding passages, the flickering torchlight of Leopoldo’s makeshift lanterns casting dancing shadows that played tricks on weary eyes. They had found sustenance, water, and a temporary reprieve from the relentless, alien sun of Osvald. But the gnawing hunger for escape, for *home*, remained a constant ache.

Degassi, her fingers tracing the intricate patterns on a shard of strange, crystalline rock, sighed. “The geological formations here are unlike anything I’ve ever documented. This…this structure,” she tapped the shard, “it hums with a peculiar energy. Almost as if it’s alive.”but the fragment of thumb saying wow"

Leopoldo, hunched over a rough-hewn table, his brow furrowed in concentration, grunted an acknowledgement. His own hands, stained with grease and charcoal, were busy sketching a complex series of gears and levers. “Energy is merely potential. It is how we harness it that matters, Degassi.” He glanced up, his gaze sharp. “And this place, it has a great deal of potential for both life and death.”
